A national ambition, committed stakeholders
Several major players in institutional tourism actively support this project, including Apidae Tourisme and ADN Tourisme.
- Apidae Tourisme, an active member of Eona-X and a key partner in the Data Quality project, helps to structure, improve the reliability of and enrich tourism data. As a key player in French tourism, Apidae acts as a facilitator in this process.
- ADN Tourisme participates alongside Eona-X and Apidae Tourism in discussions to harmonize quality criteria at national level, in particular by drawing on the Datatourisme ontology.
The aim is to move towards a single national standard for tourism data quality by aligning the criteria established as part of Eona-X’s Data Quality initiative in partnership with Apidae with those of DataTourisme.
The pillars of the Data Quality project
National reference framework
Convergence towards a national reference framework of quality criteria for tourist points of interest (POIs), developed jointly with Apidae and ADN Tourisme.
Data profiling
Data quality mapping carried out by a dedicated quality team.
Operational support
Tailored advice for data producers.
A structured methodology, tested with pilot territories
Several volunteer territories are currently participating in the pilot phase. Their role is to experiment with the approach, test the framework, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the method.
Each territory benefits from:
- a detailed diagnostic of their data;
- an individualized feedback session with the tourist offices;
- support for improvement actions;
- an aggregated analysis to identify collective areas for progress.
This pilot phase will help refine the processes, improve the tools, and define the conditions for national deployment.
Diagnosis and suggestions for improvement: how does it work?
Data transmission
Data transmission
The territory sends its tourism data to Eona-X via Apidae Tourism.
Data analysis
Data analysis
Data completeness is assessed according to specific criteria.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis
Eona-X identifies priority areas for improvement. The diagnosis is carried out according to three levels of quality :

Why improve the quality of tourism data?
- Optimise information by working on its reliability and updating
- Strengthen visitor confidence
- Increase data dissemination
- Promote tourism and encourage innovation (new uses, digital services, etc.). Concrete example: A trial is currently underway with Isère Attractivité, in collaboration with Apidae Tourisme. Click here for more information.
Next steps and outlook
The Data Quality project is currently being tested in the Isère region. The next phases will involve:
- Improving the approach based on feedback from the regions
- Extending the trial to other volunteer regions
- Finalising the common national reference framework
- Rolling out the audit tool and support on a larger scale
A dynamic serving the entire Eona-X ecosystem
This Data Quality initiative lies at the heart of Eona-X’s mission: to facilitate data sharing, interoperability, and valorization, regardless of sector.
It helps enhance the reliability of exchanged data, improve their integration into services developed by Eona-X members, and support the creation of new use cases based on higher-quality data.
