What is EONA-X
A European data space following the GAIA-X principles
EONA-X is a key European initiative that aims to develop a cross-sector data space, focused on mobility, transport, and tourism. As part of the European data strategy, it promotes a sovereign, reliable and decentralized digital infrastructure. Driven by principles of open source, interoperability and European governance, EONA-X promotes collaboration between public and private actors of all sizes to create new services and improve efficiency in these strategic sectors.
An ecosystem supported by key players in their sectors
EONA-X was founded in 2022 by seven leading European players — Groupe ADP, Amadeus, Air France-KLM, SNCF, Renault Group, Aéroport Marseille Provence, and ACCOR — who joined forces around a shared conviction: Europe must reclaim control over its digital destiny by building trusted, sovereign infrastructures.
Driven by this ambition, they created EONA-X as a neutral, non-profit and cross-sectoral alliance, designed to foster responsible data sharing and accelerate the development of new services at the intersection of mobility, transport, and tourism.
EONA-X acts as a catalyst for innovation, supporting the emergence of interoperable, ethical and sustainable use cases, while ensuring that each actor retains control over its data in compliance with European values and regulations.
By breaking silos and encouraging collaboration between public and private stakeholders, EONA-X contributes to building a resilient, interconnected and sovereign European data ecosystem.
