Beyond open data – which has been a priority of the past decade and is still ongoing – mobility stakeholders (local authorities, government agencies, operators, and their service providers) need to exchange data that is not open, for various purposes: monitoring contracts or public service delegations, digital Mobility-as-a-Service platforms, observatories, multimodal models, complex studies, and more. These needs often extend across territories that go beyond the boundaries of a single local authority.
The Cerema joined Eona-X to collaborate on identifying the data-sharing needs of local authorities, and to help find stakeholders willing to test dataspaces as a solution to their requirements. This action is part of our participation in the national Mobidec research project, alongside UGE, Ifpen, IGN, and Inria.
Leverage data for the mobility transition
Our vision is that bringing together open data and other data sources (ticketing, vehicle and individual data) via the Eona data space can help fuel a ‘data factory’ producing the relevant data that each stakeholder needs to manage the challenges of the ecological transition in mobility.
